It's been a while since I've blogged. I don't have any excuses really although I could claim holidays/vacations/new job. I've been training but not nearly as hard as I should. This is all changing since I have 16 weeks until the triathlon. My running and swimming have both improved but I still seriously detest riding that torture device called a road bike. I can barely make 7 miles without wanting to ride it into a tree, nevermind the 26 for the triathlon!
I ran outside last night in the cold and once again it's not terrible when it's in the 30's. I do need to find what Bree calls a "hamster wheel" for those bitter cold days. No excuses, right? I plan on joining a gym very soon. I wanted to join the rec center but it really is just falling apart. Just a month to month membership until the weather gets better and I can train outside regularly. I did 2.71 miles last night and felt like I should have done more. That was done in 00:36:20 which is still pretty good. That's my farthest training distance to date!
Fortunately, my long distance training buddy Bree found the most awesomest website that's like playing a game for fitness. Level up, do challenges, quests and even have a comment board similar to a popular social media site. I LOVE it. And she thinks she's gonna beat me to 2,000 points next week. Riiiiiiiiiiiigght! It's pretty insane that all I want to do is workout and get points. Great idea.
So I'm back and I have 2 blogs that have to be written. One about my brother and sister-in-law and how amazingly they are dealing with Aubri's battle against leukemia. I really admire them for their strength. The other about Coach Steve, who I once saw as tough and now see as downright dangerous. Inspirational brother and sister-in-law will take precedent over dangerous coach.
I have spin class tomorrow and hopefully it goes better than the last few! I must learn to love the bike seat. Or at least come to a mutual agreement. Until then, Happy New Year all and be ready for regular blogging!
